Spirit of Canada Ocean Challenge - February 5



The Working Harbour

Grades 2 and 3
Fireboats, tugboats, fish boats, and oil cleaning vessels are an active and vibrant part of Vancouver’s maritime community, past and present. We’ll learn about these boats and explore the lives of the people who live and work in our harbour and who protect our water from pollution.

Curriculum Connections

  • describe ways members of a community meet one another’s needs
  • describe ways in which communities are interdependent
  • identify contributions of various occupations to BC communities

For the safety and comfort of all participants, please note that class sizes must be adhered to. Elementary class maximum 30 students; preschool class maximum 20 students; all programs minimum 10 students.
