Dusty and Daring - Behind the Scenes Look at the Vancouver Maritime Museum
Similar to many collecting Museum’s, the Vancouver Maritime Museum has more than 95% of its $12 million artifact collection in storage. Very few are given the opportunity to visit our collection storage vault and see our hidden treasures – some of which we don’t dare put on public display. You will be given a guided tour of our collections and other (non public) areas of the museum. You will have an opportunity to talk to staff and have a brief overview of our education programs. This workshop will excite and inspire your teaching of social studies, leaving you with an understanding of how museums operate and how visiting the Vancouver Maritime Museum can enrich you classroom teaching!
