Exhibit Tour & Craft: The Lost Fleet

Saturdays, July 8th - 29th; August 12th - 26th, 2017, 1:30 am and 3:00 pm

This summer, the Vancouver Maritime Museum will be offering tours of our temporary feature exhibit, The Lost Fleet. The Lost Fleet looks at the significant contributions made by Japanese-Canadians to BC’s fishing industry. It explores how racism played a major role in the World War II seizure and sale of property and the internment of Japanese Canadians on the West Coast. Explore what lessons have been learned and how Canadian society has changed because of this experience. Finish off the tour by crafting an origami boat.

Tours are 40 minutes and are included with regular museum admission. Limited space. First come, first served. Suitable for ages 8 and up.

We acknowledge the financial support of the Government of Canada.
